FIDA Anambra Conducts a 3-day Workshop on the ACJA and other Anti- Corruption legislative Frameworks in Nigeria
On the 6th of April 2022, FIDA Nigeria, Anambra branch with support from Mac-Arthur Foundation organized a one-day Continuous Legal Education (CLE) Training on the Administration of Criminal Justice Act/Law and other Anti-Corruption Legislative Frameworks in Nigeria held at FIDA Anambra Family Law Center. In attendance were Magistrates, staff of the Ministry of Justice Awka, Private legal practitioners, Staff of Correctional Service and FIDANS.
The training focused on improving the legal capacity of Female Lawyers in the Criminal Justice System/Anti Corruption.
Honorable Justice Pete Obiora Admin Judge of Idemili Judicial Division of the High Court of Anambra State facilitated the training. He dealt with the issue of corruption in the judiciary, categories, causes, and possible solutions. He emphasized the need to avoid delay in the administration of Justice.
Attendees were given Certificates of Participation at the end of the training.
Day 3 NEC Meeting
On Day 3 of the National Executive Meeting (May 27th), the NEC started off with a business meeting. This was followed by the commissioning of FIDA Anambra Family Law Centre. The day ended with a formal dinner at Vertex View Hotel & Suites
FIDA Anambra visits Ukpor and Umueri community
FIDA Nigeria, Anambra State branch with support from Action Aid and funding from Global Affairs Canada, visited two communities, Ukpor and Umueri, on the 13th of November, 2020, to implement the Covid – 19 top-up fund intervention project. The visit was aimed at sensitizing the leaders and members of the communities on the extant laws that deals with Human Rights Violation and Gender Based Violence (GBV) and to publicize fida’s services for legal aid and legal representation.
FIDA Anambra Flags off 16 Days of Activism
FIDA Anambra State embarked on schools outreaches to flag off the 16 Days of activism against Gender-Based Violence with the theme: “Orange the World: Generation Equality Stands Against Rape”. FIDA Anambra State visited Federal Government College Nise and Ado Girls Secondary School Onitsha were they sensitized the students on the ills of VAW, the provisions, and protection of the VAPP Law and the need for all generations to stand together to fight against Rape, Sexual Abuse and all forms of violence in our society

Establishment of ADR Settlement Centre
In 2018, FIDA Anambra State was recognised by the Chief Judge of Anambra state as a key stakeholder when the Anambra Multi Door Court House becomes operational.
