Children’s Day 2023

FIDA Ogun State, in collaboration with House of Pearls Library (Private library) for children, organized a reading and mentorship programme for children on the 27th day, of May 2023.

The programme cut across categories of children and students from Basic One to those in higher institutions of learning

FIDA-branded notebooks, storybooks/educational materials, and refreshments were given to participants. They were also encouraged (particularly the females) to always speak up if they are ever abused or in apprehension of being abused. They were encouraged to bring to the attention of their parents/guardians, the FIDA phone numbers on the notebooks

International Day of the African Child 2022

FIDA Ogun celebrates the International Day of the African Child on 16th June 2022 at the Remo Methodist High School, Sagamu.

The June 16 annual event honours the memories of students who were massacred in Soweto, South Africa, in 1976 for protesting against education injustice and inequality in the apartheid regime.

It is a time for the world to reflect on the progress made towards children’s rights, as well as they barriers they continue to face. The Theme for this year’s DAC is ‘ELIMINATING HARMFUL PRACTICES AFFECTING CHILDREN: PROGRESS ON POLICY AND PRACTICE SINCE 2013’.
