Courtesy Visit Head of Media Bauchi State
FIDA Bauchi, on the 14th of June 2022, paid a courtesy visit to the head of media Bauchi State government house. Intimating him about of the 2nd Quarter National Executive Council Meeting (NEC) in his response he appreciated the visit and gave his support in terms of media coverage for the dinner.

16Days of Activism 2020
FIDA Bauchi on the 1st of December, 2020, paid a courtesy visit to the CJ in her chambers to appreciate her role in fostering and fast-tracking the inauguration of FIDA Bauchi Branch. Also, intimated her on the 16 days of activism which had begun and will end on the 10th of December, 2020. A copy of FIDA constitution, Byelaw, and the paralegal training manual was presented to her.
FIDA Nigeria, Bauchi State branch, held a two-day intensive training for 10 paralegals selected from four local government areas of the state, the training was aimed at building the capacity of community paralegals and creating awareness of SGBV as it affects the community.

On the 6th of August 2020, the newly inaugurated excos paid a courtesy visit to the AG of Bauchi State led by the Chairperson in person Fatima Abubakar and some the executives where she stated that FIDA would like to partner with the office of the AG for the speedy dispensation of justice most especially in cases of rape, female inmates, issues that bothers on gender based violence most especially if it has to do with women and child etc.
During the visit, the AG was decorated as one of the patrons of our noble association. The chairperson also spoke to the AG on the need to really liaise with the police to speed processes up and to see how issues of infringement of humans of women will be curtailed. She made mention of our activities and the intention we have in visiting all correctional service facilities to see how we can come in to support.
The Hon. AG welcomed the Executives and expressed his happiness on the inauguration of FIDA in Bauchi, he reiterated the fact that his office is wide open for FIDA always to offer support where needed and guidance. He also assured FIDA of the ministry’s support and collaboration to tackle the issues of rape, sexual violence etc. in the state.
He encouraged the executives to be on its feet and set the ball rolling as there are issues presently in the state that requires our attention. The AG made mention of the fact that his lawyers in chamber (ministry of justice) will be available to give support in the speedy dispensation of justice.
The International Federation of Female Lawyers (FIDA) has indicated its readiness to partner with the Nigerian Correctional Service towards assisting female inmates in Custodial Centers in Bauchi.
This was disclosed by the newly constituted executives of FIDA Bauchi Branch led by its Chairperson, Barr. Fatima Abubakar during their courtesy visit to the Controller of Corrections Bauchi State Command, CCS Suleiman T. Suleiman in his Office on the 6th of August,2020. .
Barr. Fatima Abubakar noted that FIDA was newly inaugurated in Bauchi for the purpose of addressing issues pertaining to women and children in the State.
being that NCoS is a critical stakeholder, FIDA is set to partner with the Service with the aim of intervening on issues relating to female inmates, adding that the organization intends to visit all the Custodial Centers in the State so as to study the plight of female inmates with a view to addressing them where necessary,
In his remarks, the Controller of Corrections, Bauchi State Command, Suleiman T. Suleiman, commended FIDA Bauchi Branchi for the visit and assured them of his support for the successful implementation of their programs.
The Controller advised them to look into the rising cases of rape in the State, as well as debts related cases amongst women which mostly brings them to detention facilities and to also have or conduct a forum where Area Court Judges will be enlightened and encouraged to refer parties to settle out of court without having to be taking in for detention.
On the 23rd July 2020, FIDA Nigeria Inaugurated her 34th branch, FIDA Nigeria Bauchi State Branch. The occasion was attended by His Excellency (Senator) Bala Mohammed, Governor Bauchi State and his wife the First Lady- Her Excellency Hajiya Aishatu Bala Mohammed, the Country Vice President FIDA Nigeria Rhoda Prevail Tyoden, Deputy Country Vice President Amina Agbaje alongside FIDA members. It was indeed a great success.
