ADVOCACY VISIT OF FIDA NIGERIA TO NIGERIAN STOCK EXCHANGE

FIDA Nigeria on Friday 19th May, 2017 paid an advocacy visit to the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE). The visit was to introduce FIDA Nigeria new executive members and to discuss the possibility of engaging NSE in partnership/sponsorship in areas of women empowerment programs. FIDA Nigeria also stressed the need for NSE to further harness and engage the women and girls in the informal business sector in order to create more investment opportunities and build a sustained economic empowerment base in that sector.

FIDA Nigeria was received on behalf of the CEO, NSE by Mrs. Tinuade Awe, Head Legal and Regulation Division, NSE amongst other top staff of NSE.

On the delegation from FIDA Nigeria were:
1.    Inime Aguma, FIDA Nigeria Country Vice President;
2.    Rhoda Tyoden-Moore, National Secretary;
3.    Princess F. Frank-Chukwuani, National Publicity Secretary;
4.    Ezinwa Okoroafor, International Secretary;
5.    Hauwa Shekarau, Past CVP/Ex-Officio; and
6.    Ngozi Ogbolu, FIDA Lagos Chairperson.

Mrs Tinuade Awe on behalf of NSE pledged NSE’s acceptance to collaborate with FIDA Nigeria in organizing the informal business sector of women and girls towards creating investment opportunities to ensure sustained economic empowerment.

During the visit, the CVP was honoured with the opportunity of sounding the closing gong.
