FIDA NIGERIA HELD IT'S QUARTELY NEC MEETING/FIDA BAYELSA WEEK

The National Executive Council of FIDA Nigeria convened in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State on Thursday, 28th of July 2016.
The day started with an Opening Ceremony/Lecture marking the commencement of the FIDA Bayelsa Week. With the theme "The girl child in contemporary Nigerian society: Challenges and prospects", delegates at the event deliberated on ways of ensuring that the rights of the girl child are protected and promoted throughout the Nigerian federation.
Members of FIDA from all the 33 branches across the federation were encouraged to intensify efforts in ensuring the full development of the girl child in Nigeria.
Distinguished guests at the event included the Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, His Excellency Gboribiogha John Jonah; the Chief Judge of Bayelsa State, His Lordship, Honourable Justice Kate Abiri, CON; High Court Judges; and Magistrates.
Prof. Festus Emiri, Deputy Director of the Nigeria Law School, Yenagoa, was the Keynote Speaker at the event. Also present was the Country Vice President/National President, International Federation of Women Lawyers, Mrs Inime Aguma and other National Officers of the organisation.
