FIDA NIGERIA CELEBRATES IT'S NATIONAL EXECUTIVE (NEC) MEETING IN EKITI STATE

On 28th April, 2016, FIDA Nigeria held its NEC meeting in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, with the theme “Effective Implementation of Child Protection Laws”. This was the inaugural meeting of the Organisation’s National Executive Officers who were elected in December 2015. Participants of the meeting included present and past National Officers and present and past State’s Chairpersons and their Secretaries.
The event was preceded by a training workshop chaired by the Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, Ekiti State. Two topics were addressed and discussed during the session – “Appraisal of Child Judicial System in Nigeria” by the Honourable Justice M O Abodunde of the Ekiti State Judiciary and “Advancing Legal Protection for Children “discussed by Mrs. E.S Olarinde, Provost of ABUAD.
During the meeting, the FIDA Nigeria Country Vice President, Mrs. Inime Aguma reminded FIDA members of the objects of the organisation which is enhancing, promoting, protecting and preserving the rights of women and children in Nigeria. She called on the members to selflessly work towards ensuring that this vision is sustained.
